We’re less than a year away from the National Youth Gathering! Even with the Delta variant situation being fluid right now, the Gathering Team is still planning (as of now) on hosting the gathering in Minneapolis next July! Is your student interested in attending the gathering? Are you interested in being an adult leader for our church’s group? If so, we highly recommend you attend this initial interest meeting on Thursday, September 2, at 6:30 p.m.
Registration opens September 22, so this initial meeting will cover everything from general info about the gathering, to a look at the schedule, to COVID protocols, to registration pricing, to transportation questions. Zach will answer any questions you have about the gathering, and outline the timeline of things to know leading up to it. Students who are currently in 8th – 12th grade are eligible for registration, and this meeting is open to students, their parents, and adults (must be 21 or older) who’re interested in being adult leaders.
Please keep in mind this is just our initial interest meeting, as we start putting our Gathering group together. Info about the gathering is released by the ELCA in the many months leading up to July, so we’ll frequently convene over the next 9-10 months to go over updates and learn more about our theme for Minneapolis. If you cannot attend this meeting but are still interested in the info, contact Zach at zach@whlc.org, and we will forward you the powerpoint presentation with all the important info you need to know about joining WHLC’s group & registration!
The gathering is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students to grow their faith and connect with over 30,000 other students in a wonderful week-long trip.
