When WHLC elected to expand and upgrade our church facility in 2013 we had a goal in mind of fine-tuning the space to help serve the community! Today, you’ll find lots of groups using the space throughout the week for various programs! We are so grateful to have these organization use our space, & we are always looking for ways to partner with them on awesome projects. Some of the groups you may see weekly here at WHLC include:
Heartland Youth Choir: WHLC is thrilled to have a partnership with the Heartland Youth Choir, an amazing choir which provides “performance-based program for youth, emphasizing musical literacy and character development.” Heartland has their main office in our church building, and you’ll find many of their choirs here practicing throughout the week. We are very blessed to have them join us and share music at a couple different worship services throughout the year. More information about Heartland can be found on their website!
Easterseals Iowa: Easterseals is a wonderful program dedicated to helping serve people with special needs & their families. Staring in 2019, the group began to use the church space for their weekly programs, including group meals, fun get-togethers, and helping members find employment opportunities. They have become a beloved addition to our building space! You’ll find them here Monday-Friday, usually in our third floor classrooms or in Crabtree Parish Hall. Find our more about Easterseals here!
Chin Baptist Church: We are not the only church using our building! We were blessed in July of 2018 to welcome in the Sethang Chin Baptist Church, who began using the sanctuary for their worship services. Since then, they have become not just partners in the space, but part of our church family, as the kids from both our churches routinely join up for many programs. Their service is takes place every Sunday from 12:00-3:00pm, and you’ll find them here throughout the weekend for many of their programs. What a blessing it is to have them are part of our church family! Find out more about the Chin Baptist Church here!
