75th Anniversary Summer Celebration

After the summer Sunday worship service, enjoy a time of fellowship in the Parish Hall. Light refreshments will be served. INVITE a family member or friend to learn about Windsor Heights Lutheran Church history and involvement in the community.

Prior to summer worship services, former staff members or a family member will give a greeting and family update.  Below is the schedule of greetings/family updates. Written greetings and updates from former staff members who are unable to return will be read when there is not a scheduled guest.

May 26: Reception for our Christian neighbors of Chin Church, Windsor Presbyterian and Windsor Methodist. They have been invited to give brief history of their church and their participation in Windsor Heights community.

June 2: Reception to Meet the Artist. Come to the Koinonia Room to see the installation of beautiful wood crosses painstakingly handcrafted by Dan Goss who will be present to answer your questions.

June 8/9: Tim Schumacher, son of former Pastor A.C. Schumacher

June 15/16: Mary Wilke-Adair, former minister of health

June 23: Reception for the 15th Ordination Anniversary for Pastor Robin

June 30: Reception for outside groups that uses WHLC facility- Easter Seals, Special Olympics, Heartland Youth choir. They have been invited to give a brief history of their organization and how they use our facility.

July 6/7: Mary Clements, former minister of health

July 13/14: Pastor Paul Ostrem- assistant to the bishop

July 20: Erik Ullestad, former Family Life & Youth Director. Following the service, join Erik and his family at Gusto Pizza Co., 2800 University, West Des Moines. Food and drink will be available to purchase.

July 28: Mary Ferring, former minister of health

August 3/4: Susan Ihnen, former music director

August 11: after Sunday worship service, 75th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon at Urbandale Country Club

August 17/18: Pastor Richard Rehfeldt, former pastor
