Fellowship

The Fellowship Committee coordinates events throughout the year that bring Windsor Heights Lutheran Church members together for fun and fellowship. Some Fellowship events may include:

Singles and Doubles (adults) events hosted in Windsor Heights Lutheran Church member homes throughout the year. Participants bring a food dish to share and enjoy food and fellowship.

Lenten Suppers (all ages) are held each Wednesday night from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. during Lent (2007 - February 21 through March 28). Lenten Suppers are an opportunity to gather as God’s family, share in a meal and prepare our bodies and minds for the transformation that is Lent and the ultimate Easter celebration. Members of Windsor Heights Lutheran have made the Lenten Suppers a possibility through donations of food and time for many years. Please help continue that tradition by signing up on the easel in the Narthex to bring food to share or to help in the kitchen.

Summer Celebrations (all ages) are held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on the church lawn during the summer. Come and enjoy a midmorning snack and relaxed fellowship as we break from Adult Forums for a more informal summer routine.

The Annual Steak Fry (adults) is held each fall. Participants bring a dish to share and pre-purchase a steak that is grilled during the event.

The Elderberries is a lively group of retired members and friends of Windsor Heights Lutheran Church. Boasting more than 40 members, the group meets on the first Thursday of every month (except in July) for a potluck meal, devotions, and a program. Admission to each event is $2.00 or donation of a casserole, salad, or dessert. If you've never attended but would like to do so, please contact Dana Leahy at 515-276-3138 or call the church office at 515-277-6277 to make a reservation.

Joyful Travelers usually have two trips a year - spring and fall. Nearly ten years ago Joyful Travelers made their maiden voyage to Kalona. In the ensuing years the group has enjoyed 23 trips, including trips to Kansas City, Minneapolis and an overnight trip to Dubuque and Dyersville.
